Most hospital and health system websites cover a huge array of topics on their home page. But this site takes a laser approach, placing great focus on what the organization thinks are the major reasons for someone visiting the site and subjects important to the health system.

The home page is simple and uncluttered. A large banner rotates five messages, which largely focus on health and wellness, including one that promotes a healthy habits app. Below the banner are four large boxes that promote find a doctor, find a location, careers, and billing center. The emphasis on the latter is surprising, but it’s obviously important to the organization given its home page position and the site’s extensive and outstanding billing section. Next to the four large promotional boxes are three other boxes that highlight access to information for patients, health professionals, and researchers, in recognition of the key audiences for an academic medical center.

This focused home page approach is nicely complemented with expandable global links that do an excellent job of helping visitors find content of interest in a very consumer-centric manner.
