Methodist Healthcare

www.sahealth.com
Serving the San Antonio, TX, market, Methodist Healthcare has a website that excels in almost every aspect. Site visitors will immediately note the strong home page focus on health and wellness information. Right below a large banner that rotates key service-line messages is another large section called San Antonio’s Health Information Resource. This section has tabs for six different areas, from health information sources and events to international services to news. The bottom portion of this section also promotes inquiries relevant to the subject of each tab. For example, the HealthSource tab directs visitors to information on some 6,500 conditions.

When a mouse point touches a top-of-page global link, it expands to show a large display of topic options. Included are a related visual and, in a number of cases, a paragraph that highlights the benefits of using the services of Methodist Healthcare, with key points noted in bold. Global links are also found at the bottom of pages, although those are not expandable.

The JobSource section is outstanding, both in terms of visual appeal and comprehensiveness of content.

An area that has a glitch involves the integration of services with relevant physicians. The problem arises once a doctor of interest is selected from within a service section. Visitors who decide that they want to check out another specialist after reading a profile are not sent back to the service section listing all the appropriate doctors. Clicking New Search or Back to Results instead sends them to DoctorSource, the site’s excellent physician finder.
