The use of mobile devices to surf the Web has been steadily increasing, and Google recently made an algorithm change that proves mobile devices are here to stay. As of April 21, Google has begun favoring websites in mobile searches that are mobile-device friendly. And on May 5 Google announced that, for the first time, more Google searches in the U.S. came from smartphones and tablets than from laptops and desktop computers. A big reason for this is that, unlike in the past, people now use mobile devices everywhere—from their cars to their couches—not just when they’re “mobile.”
