Unique Online Patient-Physician Consultation launched in March at www.MeVisit.com. To preserve the patient-physician relationship, the patient’s health history is collected using an intuitive questionnaire, which is then transmitted to the patient’s personal physician. Software allows the physician to interpret the patient’s symptoms and return a customized care plan, including a prescription order sent to a pharmacy, all in about three minutes. A copy of the visit is recorded in the patient’s medical record. The service, which works with a computer or mobile device, is intended for minor medical problems or follow-up appointments. Cost varies and is determined by the physician and whether health insurance covers the e-visit. A two-year study was conducted to demonstrate the service’s effectiveness and safety.
