In today’s increasingly high-tech world, organizations may find it challenging to keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital landscape. But having a well-defined strategy in place and relying on a mix of planning tools can help tie all of the pieces together for organizations, according to Kaela Carey, digital evangelist at SPM Marketing & Communications.

Carey works with a number of healthcare organizations, including the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), to help advance their efforts in this area. She recently highlighted some of the tools healthcare organizations can use to master the digital environment and succeed with their marketing efforts.

Carey points out that organizations seeking to strengthen their online presence should begin by aligning digital efforts with broader business strategies and goals. It is also important to define upfront what success will look like. Once that foundation has been established, Carey relies on several key tools to help clients effectively plan and manage their digital efforts.

Once you’ve aligned your vision, Carey says, the next step is to map out your strategy. Her go-to tool for this is a metrics planning grid. This worksheet helps organizations identify specific tactics that will support big-picture goals they want to achieve, and capture the right metrics to demonstrate success. This may include activities such as developing website content for specific service lines, promoting content with Facebook ads, or running display media.

If you are not using planning tools to map out your communication strategy, you might not achieve the results you seek. Read our full article now to get four tools that will help you plan successful campaigns, enhance your online presence, and navigate the road ahead:
