Marketing is becoming more and more of a numbers game, and clean, accurate data is key. But getting it all in one place and gleaning insights from it has been an ongoing challenge in healthcare. Can AI solutions make it easier?

Leaders from Penn Medicine and Fathom spoke on this topic to a standing-room-only crowd at HCIC in November. The presenters shared real-life examples of how they use AI solutions to extract actionable intelligence from very large datasets for campaign planning, competitive analysis, and measurement.

During the session, “Artificial Intelligence in Action: Leveraging AI for Enhanced Patient Engagement,” one solution, Akkio, came up several times. We reached out to Akkio to learn more, and spoke with Justin Canning, head of sales.

“[Akkio] allows you to look at much larger data sets that just typically were not able to be worked with without a highly trained data scientist,” Canning explains. “Akkio connects directly into a large dataset and gives back answers in a matter of seconds.”

“Akkio is our favorite data analysis tool with AI capabilities,” says Elise Horst, director, AI solutions at Fathom. One of the ways Fathom uses Akkio is to conduct research on audience size using very large databases such as the U.S. Census Bureau and Pew Research. “It would be really time-consuming to go through the process of doing this research manually every time you need to plan a campaign, so enter AI.”
