Online consumer giants like Amazon and Google have been rolling out the red carpet for consumers, offering quick, easy, and personalized experiences. This level of service is reshaping consumer expectations, and the effect is spilling over into the healthcare sector.

At the 2018 Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development Connections (SHSMD) conference, Amber Welch, director of digital content for Ochsner Health System, and Dan Greenwald, CEO of White Rhino, talked about consumerization of healthcare and what Amazon’s and Google’s impact really means for healthcare systems.

Welch also shared Ochsner’s experiences making improvements to its website to enhance functionality and service, mirroring what people have come to expect in other industries. We recently conducted a Q&A with her to further understand her organization’s efforts in creating its state-of-the-art new website and tracking the results.
