Six award-winning health systems from across the country set the standard for digital physician engagement.

A few years ago, due mainly to regulatory considerations, physician engagement meant celebrating Doctors’ Day, and physician practices operated entirely separately from hospitals.
Today, things are different. Employed physicians, advances in digital technology, competitive pressures, and a focus on patient-centered care all mean that medical staff and healthcare organizations must be fully aligned, working together to ensure that marketing efforts are effective.
Physician engagement is a core strategy for healthcare organizations of all sizes, used to boost referrals, build brand loyalty, support recruitment and retention, and enhance overall marketing efforts. Advances in technology offer new and exciting opportunities to target and engage with physicians through digital channels.
In 2023, six health systems received recognition in the Best Digital Physician Engagement category at the eHealthcare Leadership Awards ceremony held in November at HCIC in Los Angeles.
The judges considered the content and channels used to bolster positive relationships between providers and healthcare organizations, with top honors going to Hackensack Meridian Health, UMass Memorial Health, Children’s of Alabama, Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, Children’s Health (Texas), and Vanderbilt Health.
