More than 53 million adults in the United States are affected by mental health issues. That’s one in five. In Ohio alone, more than 1.2 million residents struggling with mental illness went without treatment in 2023, a 5 percent increase from the previous year. More than 160,000 teens reported experiencing at least one major depressive episode last year. According to the Ohio Department of Health, every day, five Ohioans commit suicide.

“We viewed the update of this web content as an opportunity to embrace change and assist our patients in navigating the healthcare system to receive appropriate care,” Ward states.
